Pineapple Nails - Summer nail design

Cutepolish recently did a tutorial on a pineapple inspired nail design. I thought this design looked really cute and was perfect since my current phone case is a pineapple. 

The first step is a base coat, followed by two coats of yellow. 

Next, make X's across the nail. The ends should kind of overlap to make smaller X's on the sides of the nail. 

Next, take a green striper to create the leaves at the tip of the nail. Fill the leaves in.

Outline the leaves with a darker green, and that's it!

I thought this design would look really cute on short nails, so I went ahead and cut my nails.

Dolphin Sunset Ombré Nails!

It is finally Summer break!!!! Yay! I decided to do this cute Dolphin Sunset design! Keep reading if you want to know how I got my nails ready for the beach.

I started off by adding a base coat and painting the nails where I wanted the dolphin blue and the rest white. Then I took a make-up sponge and painted a stripe of yellow, orange and blue on the sponge. Then, I dabbed the sponge on the nails painted in white. For the Dolphin I used a black striper and drew to lines kind of like a banana and then the fins. 

I saw a similar design on cutepolish's channel. The video is one of her old ones.

Three new colours added to my collection!!

I know that this thing with the Nail News isn't going too well. Instead, today I am going to show you three new colours that my friend gave to me! I really like all of them and I think they are perfect for summer!

The first one is called Palm Coast Teal. It's a teal colour but it is more greenish. 

It is supposed to have a "jelly look but I didn't notice any of that yet. 

The next polish doesn't have a name. It is a matte yellow polish. 

The last polish is also matte and also doesn't have a name. It is neon green.

All of these polishes are by a Turkish brand called 'flormar'. I have to say that this brand is not the best quality but it is fine and I think that a polish doesn't have to be by a famous brand. Each polish is unique (wow. That was very deep). 

My Birthday Nails!! Watermelon nail art!

I haven't been posting for a long long time. I guess it's because I was too lazy to write anything. Anyways, it was my birthday yesterday! I'm finally 13 years old and I wanted to show you my nails.

So me and my friends are obsessed with watermelon (watermelón) so I wore this shirt that my sister gave to me today:

For pants I am just wearing regular blck leggings and I am also wearing a watermelon necklace:

 

And finally, my nails! I did a watermelon nail design to match my outfit! Here they are:

Easter/Spring nail art!!

It is just a little late for an Easter design so I decided to try Missjenfabulous' new design out! Here it is...

I absolutely LOVE this design!!!! It looks so detailed but it is very simple to do and it took me about 10 minutes for 1 hand! As Missjenfabulous said, you can also wear bunnies on your nails in spring time. It doesn't need to be Easter. I hope you like this design!! I like it a lot! I kinda messed up on the rabbit's eyes though.

The Fault in Our Stars nail art!!!

I am currently reading a novel called 'The Fault in Our Stars'. I am sure you heard of it before. I saw cutepolish do a video on nail art for this book. I decided to recreate it. I hope you like how it turned out!!

Cutepolish did the background with newspaper nail art but I couldn't manage to do it so I just left that part out. In fact, the book that I have doesn't have writing on the background of the cover!

Nail News has changed!

I have been thinking about the Nail News posts that I want to do every Saturday but have stopped to do. I decided to make one on the last Saturday of each month. That way, there will be more products in each post and I will be able to share at least something with you each time. I realised that when I did one each week, I wasn't able to find any information to share with you each time. So that is why I have changed it. I hope you are o.k. with that!!
So guys, a lot has been going on in my life and I want to know how you guys are. Just leave a comment telling me how you are and if anything crazy has been going on in your life.

Cappadocia...

If you didn't notice, I haven't been posting for a long time! That is because I didn't take the time to post and also, I went on a school field trip to Cappadocia for four days last week! I totally enjoyed it and it was so beautiful!! We went on the 1st April and came back on the 4th April. I apologize for not posting! I also had spring break the week before I went to Cappadocia so I basically had two weeks break!!
I will definately post again soon so stay tuned for that!

St. Patrick's day nail art! Mix'n match

St. Patrick's day is very close and cutepolish did a video on st. Patrick's day nails so I wanted to try them out! They were very easy to do...

On the thumb, you can see the Irish flag since St. Patrick's day is originally from Ireland. On the pointer, I did a green plaid although I kind of failed. On the middle finger, I did a three - leaved clover and I know the four - leaved ones are usually the ones that are supposed to bring luck but that's how it was in cutepolishes video and I think the ones with tree leaves are cuter. On the ring finger, you can see an pot of gold with a rainbow. I think this is so cute. Finally, on the pinkie, I did a Leprechaun's hat. I really like how this design turned out! Flappy Bird nails!!

I said I was going to do the flappy bird nail design! Here it is...

I didn't exactly want it to turn out like this but it's kinda cute! I saw this design on cutepolish and I have put it below so that I don't have to explain how I did it...

Obsessed with minecraft...

I have been playing this game called minecraft a lot recently. It's basically a game where you build your own world and place blocks and everything and they have this 'minigame' kind of thing called 'hungercraft' or 'minecraft hunger games' and you all know that I am a fan of The Hunger Games. in this minigame you basically pretend that you're in the hunger games. You connect with 24 minecraft players and you are put into a world in which there are hidden chests with things you need to survive, such as: armor, food, weapons. The last player to remain wins! I don't know why but I am so addicted to this game. I am also really addicted to this game called flappy bird and you basically tap the screen to make the bird fly and then you have to go through gaps without hitting the tubes. It is SO ADDICTING!!!!! I'm acctually planning on doing a flappy bird nail design!

Water marble heart nail art!

Valentine's day is getting closer and closer and I can't just get away with one design since to me, Valentine's day is the time of the year when you can be the most creative with your nails! I also wanted to try water marbling for a while and I thought, why not put them together in one design! Here it is...

I did the 'classic' marble design and on my ring finger, I painted the nail two coats of white and once that was dry, I cut out a heart on a piece of tape and stuck on the nail. Then I dipped the nail into the design. I had tried water marbling one year ago but I failed completely! I did everything wrong! So I watched a couple of videos on YouTube and I have put the video that has helped me the most in this post...

Valentine's day rose nails!!

Valentine's day is around the corner so I have created a pretty and elegant design.

Here it is...

I painted a pink base color and then added stripes in a lighter pink shade. Then I used a medium pink tone to make big dots. I outlined those dots using a red. The outline doesn't need to be perfect, and it can go inside of the dots!

Then I used a mint green to make leaves and added glitter. The glitter is supposed to fade out towards the top of the nail!

My nail care routine!!

Here in Istanbul, the climate is changing a lot and that makes my hands and cuticles very dry. So I thought I'd show you how I keep my nails healthy!

Remember: this is just my way! It may not be the correct way to take care of your nails, but it works for me!

1. Begin by removing any old nail polish that you might have on your nails.

2. Then start filing and shaping your nails. Now, some people say that you have to file in one direction otherwise your nails will become weak but honestly, I don't see a difference.

3. Next, buff your nails to make them smooth. Don't buff them every week because every time you buff your nails, one layer of your nail is taken off. I like to buff them every 2nd week.

4. Next you will need a bowl with warm water, two tablespoons of olive oil, and one tablespoon of salt. Then soak your nails for about 5 - 10 minutes. When you're done, don't wash your hands with water. Just simply wipe them on a towel!

5. Apply some cuticle oil and massage it into your nails and cuticles. After you're done, wipe off the excess oil from your nails.

6. Gently push back your cuticles. Don't push too hard!

7. Now apply a base coat and you're ready to paint on a design.

...Meliney!!! I never mentioned Meliney in my posts before but I've been watching her videos for a long time! She is an Australian youtuber and she is amazing at nail art. I chose her video as first place because it is something different and it looks very complicated but actually isn't!

Nail News - January 18th! + Nail update

It is Saturday which means it is time for another 'Nail News'! Here it is...

So O.P.I has brought out a new collection called 'Gwen Stefani for O.P.I' and as you can tell by the name, the colors are designed by the one and only Gwen Stefani! I personally love her style. She is edgy and casual, so I was very excited when I found out that she made a nail polish collection! There are seven colors in this collection and unfortunately, they don't sell them here in Istanbul. :( But, Missjenfabulous has made a whole video reviewing this collection and I realized that I don't necessarily need these polishes and don't really like them, but that is only my opinion and maybe you'll like the collection! So, I have put the video below:



I recently cut my nails and I wanted to do an update to show you guys how they look. Here are my nails:

The color on my nails is called 'chinchilla' by 'ciate' and then I did an accent nail on my ring finger with 'fit for a queen' by 'ciate'.

Cupcake nails!

So I was thinking about cupcakes and how I wanted to eat one so I decided to paint some on my nails! I love how this design turned out! Take a look...

For this design, I started with 'hoopla' by 'ciate' as a base color on my thumb, pointer/index finger and pinkie finger. For the middle and ring finger, I simply painted a french manicure with the same pink color. Then I did some dots on the fingers ,that were fully painted with the pink, using three different colors to represent the sprinkles. Then I used a striper and a color called 'cute as a button' by 'Essie' to make some stripes on the French tip. Then I used 'blanc' by 'Essie' to make the frosting and then painted some sprinkles. To finish the manicure, I added a cherry on top of the cupcakes and I know cupcakes usually don't have cherries on top but I think it looks very cute! Then I added a top coat.

Also, I couldn't find anything for today's 'Nail News' so I did a design today!

Requests?

So I have been out of ideas lately and I wanted to know if you had any requests for a nail design. I am thinking about doing a vintage floral design but I think I will wait a few months, until it is spring time!

So let me know if you have any requests! I'd love some feedback. Also, I have not been uploading regularly because I just didn't have time to do my nails and sometimes am not in the mood for it. I have been feeling very tired after school since it is the end of the holidays and I'm back at school and there are EXAMS coming up etc.

So I hope you understand and please tell me your ideas for any nail designs.

No nail news?!

So today I flew back to Istanbul since school starts on Monday. I am very exhausted so I won't be doing a new episode of 'Nail News' today. It has been a long time since I posted a new episode of 'Nail News' because of the advent calendar 'unboxing's. I hope you had a good start in 2014! See you guys soon!
